How are Membership non-subscribers supposed to gather video evidence for prosecution?

Now that Canary has removed the ability for purchasers of their (expensive) devices to be able to download the video clips their units capture, without also committing to a Membership, how are they supposed to proceed in the event that their device captures video of, say, an intruder in their property and they want to give it to police as evidence to support a prosecution?

Is the advice ‘if you can’t afford a Membership, don’t get burgled’?

Agreed: what kind of scam is this? If you have something happen and you’re at home it’s even MORE important to be alerted and have the recording capability. Knowing and seeing someone break in when you’re away is great…but someone at the back door breaking in when i’m home asleep is even better. Terrible ethics
